Carsten is a Shopify developer and co-founder of ankon, a specialized Danish agency. Over the past 6 years Carsten has worked with Shopify (and Umbraco before that), and has learned that the best commerce solutions aren't always the most complicated ones - they're the ones that actually work for the people using them every day.
What Carsten really enjoy is helping merchants tackle the technical challenges that come with growth: complex B2B workflows, integrations that actually stay in sync, and launching into new markets without creating operational nightmares. Carsten is a big believer in using Shopify Markets for internationalization instead of spinning up multiple stores - it keeps things cleaner and more manageable in the long run.
From being a part of different Shopify teams to now running his own agency, Carsten has seen what works in production versus what just looks good in demos. Carsten approaches every project focused on writing modular, reusable code that won't become technical debt six months down the line, and creating experiences that make sense for both merchants managing their stores and customers shopping on them.
The projects Carsten gets most excited about are the ones where merchants are ambitious about their growth but need help navigating the technical complexity - whether that's scaling B2B operations, expanding internationally, or untangling integrations with backend systems.
